Football
Maia was a senior defender for the NZ Football Ferns for 20 years and played in the 2011 Football World Cup with a creer highlight being selected in the Fifa World XI which played China at he 2007 World Cup.
Bigfoot were consulted with her Sports Physician and Physiotherapist to help manage a painful foot injury. After foot scans and a review of her football boots, running shoes and training schedule a soft based orthotic was developed to relieve pressure on the foot. This enabled her to maintain training whilst allowing the injury to heal.
Maia retired in 2012 and received the a NZ Order of Merit for her services to Football. We wish her well on her new role as National Manager of Drug Free Sport NZ.
