KP is a prolific shooting guard and one of only three New Zealanders to play in the NBA.
Bigfoot were consulted to help Kirk in combination with his physiotherapist during the Breakers NBL season where a complex back and foot injury was affecting his performance. On top of this, because basketball places incredible shear forces on the foot, he was wearing out his orthotics within a month of training and we needed to find a solution to developing a better lasting product. Working closely with the physiotherapist we ascertained significant imbalances in his leg movement patterns. Bigfoot then developed the very first basketball orthotic to withstand the shear and compressive forces placed on elite basketballers. The orthotic is customised to Kirks foot as has easily lasted him the distance as well as assisted him to a full recovery.
Kirk and the Breakers recently made history by being the first kiwi team to win an Australasian competiton. Kirk has now retired fromprofessional basketball.
